Mark Zucker of Westport was appointed executive vice president and chief underwriting officer at the RVI Group, Stamford, a specialist in residual-value insurance. Since 2000, Zucker was managing director, head of global structured finance at MBIA Insurance Corp. Armonk, N.Y. Prior to that, he was chief credit officer, investment banking at Rabobank International, London. Zucker holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and economics from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Connecticut.

Carol Wiener of Danbury was appointed vice president of consulting at Terra Technology, Norwalk, a provider of demand sensing and inventory optimization solutions for consumer products companies. Most recently, Wiener was vice president, operations and professional services at Tibersoft Corp., Boston Prior to that, she worked for eight years at Manugistics (now JDA), Rockville, Md., culminating as vice president, professional services. Wiener holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the State University of New York at Cortland.

Robert Wrobel of Wilton joined the Stamford office of the law firm Day Pitney L.L.P. as of counsel. Since 2002, Wrobel was executive vice president and chief legal officer at Alpharma Inc., Bridgewater, N.J. He joined Alpharma in 1997 as vice president and chief legal officer. Prior to that, he was vice president and associate general counsel at Duracell International Inc., Bethel, Wrobel holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Illinois.

Karen Ruta of Norwalk was appointed business manager at Theatre Projects Consultants, Norwalk, a theater design company. Most recently, Ruta was chief financial officer of a media buying company in Wilton. Prior to that, she was general manager at Sports & Co., Stamford. Ruta holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in philosophy from the University of South Carolina.

Stacy Nicholas of Westport was appointed a human resources/payroll administrator at OperationsInc, Stamford, a human resources consulting company. Nicholas has more than seven years of payroll experience, most recently as a supervisor at Paychex Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business economics from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Joshua Garofano of Danbury was appointed a real estate sales agent at Atlantic Real Estate Corp., Yonkers, N.Y., a real estate development and brokerage firm. Garofano is a recent graduate of Keene State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 20th-century history.

The Kennedy Center, Trumbull, a nonprofit rehabilitation agency, announced the election of the following individuals to its board of directors.

Dr. Pietro Andres of Fairfield, a specialist with Gastroenterology Associates, Stratford, joined the board. Pietro holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College and a medical degree from Harvard University.

Raymond Baldwin Jr. of Trumbull, first selectman of Trumbull, joined the board. Baldwin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Haven and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Bridgeport.

Ann McManus of Woodbridge, vice president and market manager of the Bridgeport radio cluster of Cumulus Media, joined the board.
