Fairfield University, Fairfield, was awarded a $155,393 Critical Languages Eurasia Initiative grant over the next two years from the U.S. Department of Education to expand its Chinese-Russian-Asian studies.

Childcare Learning Centers (CLC), Stamford, a provider of early childhood education and care, received a $50,000 grant from the Frederick Leonhardt Foundation to help pay for continuing education for CLC’s teaching staff.

The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, Norwalk, received a $12,067 grant from the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.

The Kennedy Center, Trumbull, a nonprofit rehabilitation agency, received a $6,364 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation’s Sternbach Fund for People with Disabilities. The grant will be used to provide respite-care services.

NexVue Information Systems, Stamford, a provider of financial and operational business solutions, announced the addition of a new client: Gaming Laboratories International Inc. (GLI), Lakewood, N.J., an operator of gaming test laboratories. Nexvue will develop and deploy a technology platform designed to support GLI’s operational, financial accounting and reporting requirements.

Michael J. London & Associates, Trumbull, a public relations firm, announced the addition of a new client: Leigh Overland Architect L.L.C., Danbury, an architectural firm.
